We hope to contribute to the preservation of endangered languages in Central America by creating new materials and resources in less commonly spoken languages. We also seek to encourage first-language fluency among second generation immigrants in our local communities, particularly Spanish, Chuj, and Haitian Kreyòl.
English-Chuj Dictionary
We are working with the support of some university researchers and policy makers in Guatemala to develop a English-Chuj/Chuj-English dictionary. This will be equally useful to native English speakers and native Chuj speakers. This will also be available in print and audio versions in both San Mateo Ixtatan and San Sebastian Coatan dialects.
